Rafael de Jesús Navas González was born in Jaén (Spain) in 1964. He received the degree of Licenciado en Ciencias, Sección Físicas, Especialidad Electrónica, from the University of Granada (Spain) in 1987, and the Ph.D. of Doctor Ingeniero en Informática from the University of Málaga (Spain) in 2000.
From 1988- 1993 he worked in the R&D Department of Fujitsu España S.A in Málaga, as design engineer in its microelectronics group. After a training period in Computer Added Design tools (CAD), which included training courses and sort stays in Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB), Centro Nacional de Microelectrónica (CNM), and the ATT design center in Tres Cantos (Madrid), he participated in several ASIC´s specification and design projects.
Since 2003 he is Profesor Titular de Universidad.
His recent research activity is focussed in the following fields:
- Design of integrated circuits for hardware implementation of
neuro-fuzzy control algorithms.
- Applications of these circuits in the power electronic field.
- Advanced sensors and actuator intelligent interfaces.
- Microsystems integration.
- Technologies for blind peoples.
